Before you start using medicinal cannabis
At Windsor Medical Centre, and Windsor CBPM, we have a duty of care to all of our patients to make sure that you understand the benefits, risks and potential side effects when using medicinal cannabis before being approved for treatment.

The Legalisation of medicinal cannabis
Please note that recreational cannabis has not been legalised, even if you have a genuine medical reason to take it.
Cannabis is a controlled drug, so prescriptions must meet a rigid set of legal requirements, including a 30 day maximum duration.
Please read our full page on the legalisation of medicinal cannabis here.
Driving and operating machinery
DVS have rescinded their previously issued advice and defer to DVLA guidance which is available online.
Don’t operate machinery if you are impaired by THC containing medicine.

Learn more about cannabis in Professor David Nutt’s book: Cannabis (seeing through the smoke)
Professor David Nutt wrote an excellent book called, Cannabis (seeing through the smoke). This provides a great understanding of cannabis and the historical background to to using cannabis as a medicine. He used to advise the UK government on drugs, but was sacked after he told the truth and not what they wanted him to say. Order the book on Amazon here.
